Every puppy, every kitten, every frightened rescue dog, every abandoned mom with newborn babies who comes into our care first enters one very important place: our Isolation Runs.

This area is the heart of our sanctuary.

Before any rescued animal can safely join the rest of the animals in our care, they must go through strict isolation protocols. This process is not optional. It is one of the most critical and responsible procedures in animal rescue.

Many of the animals we rescue arrive with unknown vaccination histories. Some come from horrific conditions, others are sick, neglected or heavily exposed to disease. Without proper isolation, deadly and highly contagious viruses such as Parvo and Distemper could spread rapidly through our sanctuary. And when you care for an average of 300 animals every single day – puppies, dogs, kittens and cats – the consequences could be devastating.

Some of these viruses have incubation periods of up to two weeks. An animal may appear healthy while silently carrying disease. If newly rescued animals are placed directly into the general population, a virus could spread faster than it can be contained, putting hundreds of innocent lives at risk.

That is why our isolation area was built with tiled, concreted, sterile surfaces designed specifically to reduce contamination and prevent viruses from surviving in the environment. It protects every litter of puppies, every pregnant mommy dog, every vulnerable rescue that comes through our gates.

But after years and years of constant use, deep cleaning, weather exposure and caring for thousands upon thousands of rescued animals, this vital area is falling apart.

The metal gates and fencing are rusting and disintegrating.
Tiles are cracking and lifting.
Metal doors are bent, weathered and deteriorating.
Concrete flooring is breaking apart.
And the rusted metal has now become a serious danger to tiny puppies and vulnerable dogs.

We urgently need your help to restore and upgrade our Dog Isolation Runs before the damage becomes irreversible.

Without a safe and functioning isolation area, we may no longer be able to responsibly take in:

• Pregnant mommy dogs
• Litters of vulnerable puppies
• Orphaned babies
• Sick rescues needing urgent care
• Animals who have absolutely nowhere else to go
